THank you for sharing your experience. You have mentioned that you have tried few Sony dvd players, does it include Sony DVP-S 7000 DVD? I'm waiting for Chris's report about using DIP with cheap transport, if the result is good, I might buy one as well. $1100 for a mod? If I don't like the sound, I will be very lucky to sell it for $500. Buy a used transport for $1100, I can sell it for $1000 or more if I don't like it. I'm thinking buying a PC cd rom to experiment, it won't cost too much, it was also mentioned by Chris.Happy New Year!
