Mostly.

I would still use a shield over the twisted pair, just spaced away from them. True balanced operation is affected less by the shield copmpared to single ended.

What I was trying to convey was that three wires are often not needed, and if the 3rd wire is needed due to minute differences in chassis potentials that need equalizing, then a third wire outside the shield, away from the twisited pair will do nicely, and avoid contaminating the pair with any ground currents/noises.
