for the T 9090
Over the last year or so I've been auditioning tuners. I've tried a couple of vintage Pioneer models, including a TX-9100 and a Magnum Dynalab MD-90. The Onkyo unit works better - ie. does a better job of picking up stations than either of the three other tuners I've tried. Not only that it sounds better to my ears - without that "analog" like brownish colorations I could detect with both Pioneer units and the MD-90.Instead of describing all of the functionality and features of the tuner I've attached the following links.

The tuner cost me $250, I've seen the T9090 II going for $50-$100 more. In particular this tuner sounds clear, open and powerful.
Product Weakness: No longer made, small buttons. Product Strengths: Works and sound great!
