Having owned this arm now for over 1 year I am very fimilar of its sonic character and qualties. If first herd the new Graham 2.2 arm at the CES show last January. I was intially very impressed and when I got back home ordered the new cap on pre arrival. I just recieved it today. It took all but one minute to screw the old bearing cap off and put the new one on, very simple indeed. After several hours of listning I think it is safe to draw some intitial conclusions reguarding the upgrade. Let me start by saying with the first song I played the difference was very aparent and obvious from the start. At first I thought I heard more mid-bass and lower bass but then understood that what I was hearing was greater authority and punch at the bottom end. The midrange and upper frequencys played with a greater ease and flow, across the whole spectrum there was a clearer, more focused and most importantly musical sound. Overall it was like another layer of fog was lifted. This reminds me of what happaned when I put the Aurios media isolation bearings in my system. In any event the music played with a purity, balance and ease that I previously did not hear. Everything was better espicall the bass. This has been the most cost effective upgrade I have done on my system. Only getting my 2 decated lines with silver plated wire made as much difference for so little money. After hearing this new 2.2 I can't go back now. This appears to increase the gap once again betwwen anaolg and digital. CD's have come a long way but dont forget analog gets better to and this is a fine example of it. Bob Graham who I met in january has done a great job refineing this arm and this takes it to the next level. Overall a Major Improvement. For me $300 is very reasonable for what this change did. John
