for the Sensys DC1

* The binding posts are impressive (5! one to ground the speaker), but are not practical (no standard space). I like the front port (the speakers can be placed against a wall). The size is ok for a bookshelf.

* The main, coaxial driver is impressive. Die-cast frame. I don't like too much the concept of "Super-Tweeter" (above 16kHz !). The enclosure is ok, but too thin for my taste (0.6", or 15mm), despite the brace.

The crossover is divided in two boards, and is made of medium-quality elements. (Iron-core inductors, polyprop and electrolytic caps, sand-cast resistors)

* The sound ? Well, very, very good. At first, a little bit bland. And after a few minutes, you discover how natural are the voices. How stable is the stereo image, when you move accross the room. And, despite a very neutral sound, all the details are THERE !

The only negative thing is a slightly "boxy" sound in the low-mids / upper bass. I don't care, because I am using them with a 10" woofer as a stand, taking care of the frequencies below 250 Hz. As for the super-tweeter, their contribution is very subtle. I was amazed to discover that the sound was ... less aggressive when I removed the screen I put in front of them !

Highly recommended !

Product Weakness: Thin enclosure, slightly "boxy" in the upper-bass / low-mids range, but I am very picky here.
Product Strengths: Concept (superbly built coaxial driver) ; Sound (natural, detailed, stable imaging, good bass extension for a bookshelf)
