I'm ecstatic over these speakers. My room is crap for acoustics and is waaaay too small for the 80's (40's would have been a much better choice for the room) but I'll be moving soon to a house with more acoustically friendly environs. Even still, they sound gr8! I've driven them with good quality mid-fi receivers and separates. . .the most neutral and flattest speakers I've ever heard given the price. Moreover, I was auditioning a pair of B&W 604's @ home to replace my Paradigm Phantom v.2 floorstanding speakers and was enthused to hear the Phantoms (only $400/pr) outperformed the B&W's on my system. . .so back to the shop I go to try out some Monitor 9's, but walk out with a pair of studio 80's to try out. . .I NEVER took them back, I was sold !
