for the Monitor 9

I purchased the Paradigm Monitor 9 v4, about 10 months ago.

At first, I loved them and hated them at the same time. Their detail and openness impressed me, bass is very deep and well defined. I had been used to a pair of 10' 3 ways, with soft dome tweeters. So the metal domes of the Paradigms took a little time to get used to. At first, because of the occasional harshness of the metal domes, I thought the Paradigms had a manuf. flaw. but it wasn't continuous. After several more months of listening, and break in, the harshness seemed less and less, and only on poorly recorded sources. They continue to surprise me, sometimes they may sound very mudane, but when a very good recording is played though them, they sound truly impressive. A large and deep soundstage. I do recomend bi-wireing them, the mids and highs seem to benefit from this. Also positioing is an important factor, at least 6 feet apart and slightly toed in seems to work for me. Also noted was their sensitivity to poor Japanese solid state equip. The better the amplification stage, the better they will sound.

Product Weakness: not much after breakin
Product Strengths: sound stage, depth, very quick, but great bass
