My Opera Review
I think Opera loudspeakers are voiced very well in terms of midrange
and high end tone while the bass varies the most from model to model.

My personal favorite is the Opera Seconda. Systems listed at 12 watts for tubed ones
are believed to have no problems driving any of the Opera speakers.

I liked the communication of music on Opera speakers
overall. Well designed compromises made as in treble response.
While not the most extended treble I heard it is among the most refined,
airy and like the midrange well-textured in terms of tone and resolution.

My own 15 watter seems underpowered for Opera speakers but then I recall
that even a speaker made for 3watt amplifiers in mind distort audibly when
given 8 single ended watts. The Soliloquy SM2A3.

Operas sound "right" to
my ears. I prefer this sound to peaky analytical and hi-fi sounding speakers
like Sonus Faber or Thiel.

The Pavarotti and the Seconda models are close
in price I think.
They cost a bit more than Triangle Titus and seem better
balanced top to bottom with more bass for the Seconda and maybe a litlle more apparent
transparency from the Pavarotti. The Seconda is the Totem Model One of Italy. It reproduces prodigious bass for standmounts and substantial impact.

From my auditioning of these speakers I would offer that this is one of the true underdogs of the high end world. To rehash that audio magazine cliche, they compare extremely well with speakers many times their price.

They won me when the Triangle Titus could not.
