I tend to be very frugal in my audio purchases. In other words, I like to get my money's worth in products I select. I purchased the Monitor Silver 3i based on the demo at the dealer and his recommendation. It has taken me about 3 months to get this system to sound the way I want it to. I had auditioned the 4i and 5i. I found the 5i did not image high enough for me. I decided on the 3i instead of the 4i because I also purchased the AW210 sub woofer. I only use this system for watching DVD's. I do not use this to listen to music, because I have more serious equipment for music listening. The sound for HT is very satisfactory. What I find interesting about the Monitor Audio speakers is that they sound fine with a variety of electronics. The 3i are mounted on 30" sand filled speaker stands.
