After owning Mirage M3si's for years(a great all around speaker, but the size!), then 2 months with the B & W Nautilus 803(I wanted a more full range sound of the Mirage with the imaging and resolution of the 803) - I decided to bring the Heron's home. I could tell from the first note that these speakers are something special. They are the best of both worlds in my system. Very large and wide soundstage with the intimacy of a 2 way. They keep impressing me more every day. The bass!!Tight, deep, and these things can play very loud without any breakup or tizziness.
With the 803,Some recordings could get slightly fatiguing after awhile, this has not happened with the soft dome tweeter equipped Heron. Plus I still get the excellent front to the back of the stage resolution that I like.
I would say the Herons are more on the slightly warm side of nuetral, which suits me fine. I can also successfully run my amps in triode mode(60 watts)
I think I will own these for a long time..
