for the Interlude IL60

I had high hopes for these speakers.
I have inside information from Infinity that in Blind listening tests, Infinitys panel of trained listeners actually preferred them to Preludes.
In fact, word has it, they had to actually turn the bass down in the 60's.
Well, be that as it may, I did not like these speakers.
Bass wise, they work great, and the rabos is a useful tool.
But I just couldnt live with the rest of this speaker.
If I were to use one word to describe them, its bland.
They dont image very well, and they just dont sound like music to me.
They are ultra smooth, but without soul.
None of my audio friends liked em either, and most said if they beat Preludes, then the Preludes must sound like sh@#!
They have this ultra smooth, lifeless sound.
God knows, they are beautiful in the Light Maple, and the bass is wonderful.
I gave these things much more time because I wanted to like them.
I Broke them in , facing each other, one speaker out of phase, for 30 days.
I gave em class A amp, tubes, different pre amps, DAC's, etc.
I threw everything I had at em, all to no avail.
I heard the engineer at Infinty who designed these has the Lowly IL 40's at home, hmmm... wonder why??
I think Infinity needs to re evaluate their voicing methods, and get rid of that listening panel.
I dont think the CMMD drivers are the problem, I think some Yo Yo trusted his imstruments and a burned out, Deaf listening panel, instead of a set of good ears!
Are you listening, Floyd ??
I wouldnt buy this speaker again, thank god I was able to send it back!

Product Weakness: Bland, Blah, poor imaging, lack of depth perception, uninvolving, not musical.
Product Strengths: Rabos bass, looks, cat proof.
