I have auditioned the Diva 5.1 for a little more than 2 weeks now. I have not yet decided if I will keep them or look for something else but here is a first review of them. My pair is a demopair so they should be "played in" by now.

The Diva 5.1 are wery well built, they look real classy and expensive. The terminals are BIG and of good quality, the filtercomponents are of quite good quality but can bee DIY uppgraded for a low cost. The spikes are good looking but dont realy work as spikes, the skipe is skrewed on the foot. If i buy theese speakers I will buy new spikes for them.

The Diva 5.1 have i nice and wide soundstage, the dynamics is good and the bass is deep and powerfull. The are wery musical and I enjoy everything from jazz like "Diana Krall", blues like "BB king" and metal like " A perfect cirkle". They play very engaging and it is fun to listen to music with the Diva 5.1.

However there are some weakneses with them. When listening to jazz it is hard to follow the basline. The deepbass is there but the middbass is hard to hear. It is hard to hear when the stings are hit on the bass. I have played a test-cd and it is clear that the bass in strong från 35 hz but at 50 hz, 65 hz and 70 hz the bass in clearly weaker and this is a problem. I dont know if this problem comes fron the speakers or from my room, but it is a fact.
Anothe weakness is that the are not som focused in detail. The sounstage is wide but the musicians are not so clearly placed as with for example my preowned Thiel CS 1.2 or Monitor Audio MAG 903.

On the other hand my preowned speakers had marwelous details and placement but where a little too unforgiving tom make musiclistening a pleasure. The Divas make musiklistening fun, the focus more on the "whole" than on the "details"

If it hadnt been for the weakness in midbass I would keep them but since I listen a lot to music with acoustic baslines I have to think a little more about this. I can maybe compsate this weakness whith a sub but I would prefer not to.

I wuold allso like to coment the looks of the Diva 5.1. The look calssy and weel built but allso a little " too much". Lots of gold details and a shiny finish makes them look a little out of place, at least in my living room.
