for the M80ti

This review will be fairly short and to the point. I bought these M80's about a year and a half ago. I was pretty impressed with them right away. But I did need to break my ears in to them. The clarity and detail they have was so much better than my Boston Acoustics. I have really grown to love these speakers. As I have upgraded my system going from CD's to vinyl, forn SS to all tube. The M80's have always shown the improvements in my system. I'm not going to try to compare them to other speakers as I haven't listened to every brand out there. But I have listened to some Magnapans and others. Axioms are not better than Maggies at moderate to low listening levels. I came to realize what makes Maggies and others like them so good is the large surface area of the speaker. You can almost feel these speakers breathing on you. Very nice especially when you have them pretty close to the listener. But if you like to turn the music up sometimes the Axioms may sound better. Since I have gotten my tube amp sounding right I have never heard such solid cylindrical powerful bass. For 1100 the Axioms won't beat the big boys. But it comes close. And may be even better than some of the big boys when cranked.

Lastly I recently had a vibration comming from my left speaker. I figured out that one of the mid drivers was the problem. I emailed Axiom enquiering if my speakers were still under warranty. They replied that the speaker had a five year warranty. They shipped a new one. It got here in two days free of charge. No questions asked. Now thats good service!!!
