This is a high quality product which uses attenuators (not pots). It is available in a number of forms: 1) as a fully assembled kit for $895; 2) EZ kit (attenuator assembled) for $695; or full kit for $495. The full kit is for EXPERIENCED kit builders only. The only option is for balanced connectors and is very expensive ($600). I have the balanced version of the preamp. It works flawlessly. Some people are put off from passive preamps due to their lack of gain. My suggestion is to pair the PR41 with one of Marchand's active crossovers and put the gain in the crossover. This to me is the best of both worlds, a completely quiet preamp in which the signal is not altered with the advantage of having gain. The addition of gain to the crossover is simply a matter of changing resistor values. Marchand can tell you how to do this.
