i went from mid-fi -- to hi-fi + and in the process upgraded to this pre;
it is so good my wife said it was worth the price - an absence of the noise you didn't know was there - noticable difference on small monitors (i have paradigm atoms) they thrpw soundstage and enable the speakers to exhibit bass. i know little - very little - about what component does what i'll have to say it makes my speakers more alive, the music, particularly
jazz and acoustic, more there.
