I just purchased a 2000 two days ago, and was BLOWN AWAY by the improvements. Perhaps these devices are system-dependant, or perhaps my AC was particularly "bad", I don't know. In my all tube system I suddenly heard the image "lock in". The volume seemed to increase, (actually the noise floor lowered). The amplifiers had significantly more impact and slam. I was totally unprepared for a change of this magnitude, maybe it's because of the output transformers on my tube monoblocs; I'll leave these details with those more knowledgeable in electronics. Bottom line: I just finished retubing my monoblocs, and changing my wiring to double runs of bi-wiring ----- the 2000 was a better tweak than both of these combined! My system made a quantum leap forward. Your mileage may vary.
