This is wonderful amp for the price. The sound quality lies somewhere between the better solid state seperates and lower-end tube units. It has a very sweet top end, detailed mid's with good space, and a refined and tight low end. There is plenty of power to spare for dynamics, and it's huge capacitors and transformer no dought help out here. All switches and controls work very smoothly and with no noise. This unit offers superb build quality and is a beauty to look at too. The phono circuit is precise, quite, and offers a detailed and open sound quality. In addition, it has both MM and MC cartridge inputs. I run my Denon DL-160 moving coil through this with excellent results. And the headphone section is no slouch either. The bottom line is that this is a very good value for sound and features vs price. There are a few reviews of this fine unit that are negative of some of it's sonics. I think they were "out of the room" when they made their call!!!
