I got interested in the Dussun DS99 because it was the OEM manufacturer for a Red rose music integrated amplifer (sells for $2000). Mr ping provided excellent service and the 30-day money back guarantee. My previous amplifer was a Jolida 1701A tube integrated amplifier with 50 watts per channel. After a week-long comparison the Dussun amp won hands-down although the jolida is a good amplifier itself. I will break the differences down.

System : Onix xcd -99 player , Quad 22L and dussun vs jolida 1701 a

Looks: Both look nice, I would say the Jolida has a little more character as far looks go. The dussun looks neat but subdued.

Construction: Both are heavy and well- made . No real winners here.

Features : The dussun won hands down. It puts out 100W vs 50W of the Jolida plus has a headphone socket. This is important if you have less efficient speakers or larger rooms. Moreover the Jolida (according to Jolida themselves) are not meant to be used with 4 ohm speakers.

Sound: Most important. There are three areas where the dussun excelled . It was more detailed than the Jolida without ever sounding more bright than the jolida. The bass extension was clearly much better. I also found that male vocals sounds a tad better than the Jolida. I was a bit concerned that the Jolida might me more muscial and have a better mid-range but this did not happen. The dussun was very musical and did not have any more brightness than the Jolida

Conclusion: The dussun is clearly a better amp than the jolida integrated. It costs about the same as the jolida , has better detail and better bass than the jolida and has more power and features. I have sold the jolida and the dussun has been with me for 5 months now,

Potential buyers; If you want a musical integrated amplifer with good warranty and can live without a remote , this just might be best under $ 800 ss integrated amplifer out there" - Other reviews on the web suscribe to this notion.

Suggestions for improvement; Remote control certainly and phono stage (optional)

Disclaimer: I am not a reviewer or a friend of Ping and just to let you know I returned the Original Cd-player because it was not better than my Onix xcd-99. "

Product Weakness: Slighty lean sound, needs a remote, phone stage made optional
Product Strengths: Musicality, good detail and good bass, nice midrange too
