This is a true non-feedback design, see www.densen.com for a deeper description. The DM-10 is a true dualmono design, and despite a power rating of 75pwc it uses 2x300va toridal transformers and a storage capacity of 80.000uF. It is also a truly minimalist design with only a volume knob and an input selector. The knobs however are defintely the biggest in the business, so you use your hand more than your fingers when operating it.
So how does it sound?? I have tried big ss amps like ML, I have tried TT´s and small ss classA amps. And guess what, the Densen seems to draw the line between real punchy and controlled basslines and the smoothest treble reminiscent of an SET. The best part however is that the smoothness isn`t becaurse of muddiness, this is a highly revealing amp as well but without any glare or hissing and spitting.
With the generousity in the power supply it will drive almost anything, but due to the fact of it´s non-feedback design avoid ultra low-impedant speakers and cables with ultra high capacitance.
This animal boogies and jives but is also capable of bringing a piano to live.As Densen would say: Life´s too short for boring HIFI:-)
