Sound Quality and description

Soundstage - As large as a headphone can get, if you want the closest thing you can get to speakers yet still have many of the benefits of a headphone, then these are your new pair. It does an excellent job of letting you know where instruments are in music with great detail and where footsteps or explosions are coming from in movies and TV.

Bass Response - Bassheads should stay clear of these headphones as you will not be able to "feel" the bass with the Audio Technica ATH-AD700. If I were to place this headphone on a scale from 1 to 10 on a bass scale it would be a 4 or 5, where most reviewers would state the bass reproduction was slightly less than a nuetral headphone would be.

Mid-Range Frequency - Warm with excellent clarity. With an underwhelming bass response the Audio Technica ATH-AD700's mids are allowed to shine throughand provide you with outstanding vocals and intruments clarity.

High-Range Frequency - Well extended and smooth. Both the highs and bass are improved after burn-in and with an amp, and although they fall short of some of the high end headphones on high end extension, they blow similarly priced models out of the water.
