I had my kit assembled by a professional tech. in Rochester, NY (they don't come any better or nicer than Joe at Service Technology). This dac is stunning. It has transformed the sound of my system. I purchased it due to Steve's review on the enjoy the music website. Usually reviews come a dime a dozen, with all their superlatives which one feels one has heard so many times before, but I tell you, Steve is right on with this one! According to Mike - the designer and rep at Audio Note - it could use several more weeks of break-in, but after less than a week, it's hard to imagine it could sound significantly better. CDs I didn't think much of before are mezmerizing. And well recorded cds sound so natural, transparent, and musical.
