for the Shigaraki DAC

This is a follow up to my review. I have been auditioning the Jena Labs Symphony Digital Digilink cable to replace their Trio Digilink. The Symphony has 6 wires braided in a proprietary braiding technique. The Trio has only 3 wires braided in the typical 3 wire combination. The Symphony, after a 3 week break-in started to really sing, producing that rare combination of more detail and warmth. However, I was not prepared for the improvement brought forth when I installed one of the Jena Labs power cords(3 wire model) to the Shigaraki's supply. Amazing! The expanding universe theory came to light here. The breath of the soundstage expanded in all directions, with much more air between instruments and thus more transparency, indicating that this little Shigaraki DAC is very sensitive to ancilliary equipment. The power cord mod might indicate that it's weak point might be it's power supply. Every 47 Labs -Shigaraki owner knows that the performace of these poducts can be enhanced by the use of the Large 47 Labs Power Supply modules (Humpty) or by battery power. If this DAC's performance can leap in such a way by such a simple mod, I can imagine how can an actual PS improvement make it perform. BTW, Jena Labs power cords have proven to be one of the favorite power cords in the local audio scene. The power cord I had been using was the Harmonic Tech Proo 11.
