for the Shigaraki DAC

I have been using the Shigaraki DAC for over a year now. In my system, the Shigaraki presents a very clear, lightning fast, transparent, and at the same time, sweet presentation. It is very analog sounding-it reminds me of the Linn Sondek turntable I used to own.
Compared to the BelCanto DAC2, which I also have had on loan for a few days, the Shigaraki's presentation might be perceived as more distant. The DAC2 presents vocals in a more forward way, and other instruments one might also perceive them to develop at the speaker's plane. With the Shigaraki these same parameters develop behind the speaker's plane. The DAC2 has a little more body than the Shigaraki and maybe more "bloom" which some might prefer, and it's transients seem less quick or dynamic. Image specifity seems to be about the same. I like both DACs, they are both very musical in their own way. I used to have a BelCanto Dac1 which the Shigaraki replaced. The Dac2 is clearly superior to the DAC1. To me, in the end, I prefer the Shigaraki's more direct and clearer presentation. In my system, bass is about the same.

The Shigaraki is a non-upsampling DAC with neither an digital and analog filter. The DAC2 is an up-sampling DAC

Product Weakness: DAC box and PS box too small, tips easily with rigid interconnects and power cords.
Product Strengths: Clear, dynamic and sweet sound
