My brief review is for the PNF xlr version of the Icon interconnect. Like most people in the hobby, I've tried many interconects. Radio Shack, Monster, BetterCables, WireWorld, Virtual Dynamics. I tried the PNF's because it had won the Absolute Sound Award, and the price was right. Below you can see the equipment used, but these cables were just right in my system. They are well made, industrial looking, and very flexible. PNF claims to cook the cables prior to shipping. I replaced my rca version Virtual Dynamics Nite 3.0, and immediately noticed the improvement. The music was a few db louder, probably due to the change from rca to xlr. The sound stage was marginally wider, and deeper. They also sounded warmer, with the mid, and lower bass very tuneful, and tight. Of course its all about synergy (I use their speaker cables too) but these are the first cables that seemed to allow my components to operate at the level I believe they could. Music sounds so real and involving. I emphasize that at this price, and with my equipment, I really can't emagine things sounding better.
