Why post a review of such "old" and "out-of-date" interconnect?

I've tried and tried to outdo the QF with DIY efforts, some even Herculean efforts, and yet I can't match the QF in the end. So I thought I'd give it the due respect it deserves despite a lot of Nordost-bashing out there.

And no, I haven't tried the Valhalla IC, but there are plenty who prefer the QF over Valhalla and since I willl NEVER pay for Valhalla's price, it's a moot point.

The trump card of QF is the Nth degree of detail in the midrange it presents WHILE maintaining the correct tonality from upper-midrange to lower-midrange. I've heard IC's that has more apparent air (low-AWG silver does, but skews up upper-mid/low treble) or more bass (big copper does, but nowhere the detail) and do this and that, but none so far can match the QF in this regard. It really is uncanny, and I at this point don't know how to duplicate this midrange quality with DIY.

Unless I can go steal some of the silver-clad copper with teflon spacers/air Nordost has, I don't think I can make a DIY with this quality. A pirated ElDorado power cord is an idea worth pursuing (which I haven't tried yet since used Eldorados for for some good bucks, too)

I love this detailed intensity with preserved tone in midrange, which reminds me of midrange quality of BMI Shark v.i power cord. I can't help wonder what the IC would sound like if BMI decided to make some IC's with platinum...
