for the MA-1

Well, some frustration was setting in not having enough quality interconnects for all the equipment and systems I have, primary, secondary and family! I note that I WAS using $300 interconnects for $500 pieces of Electronics which doesn't quite sit so well with me.

Ordered several pairs of these Morrow Audio MA-1 interconnect for a pretty bargain-basement price.

Pros: Sound.

Cons: Construction with ultra thin wires seems a bit fragile, although no complaint otherwise.

Break-in period sugggested is long, 400 hours, although I seem to have good success with just 100 hours.

Narrative:

I call these the Bounty of interconnects because at these prices, every last interconnect get's soaked up by some system! They are ESPECIALLY GOOD with digital sources. I can listen to digital now, FINALLY!

Systems:

From entry-level tube to entry-level solid state to mid-fi home theather.

Sound:

What sound?? That is really the question that has to be asked. These are TRANSPARENT AFAIK! The sound leaves the loudspeaker, no artifacts.
The bite of horns come through, for instance. Wonderful to listen to. Voices leave the loudspeaker completely -- I really like this!

Breakin:

They are suppose to be broken-in before a proper evaluation can be made. I've given them 100-hours at least. The sound goes from Good to a little Strident, back to Very Good in that 100-hour period. There's not much insulation or dielectric, so I am wondering exactly what is breaking in!

Comparison:

Well, I was using Nordost Red Dawn interconnects, no slouch, and didn't have enough of these. The Morrow Audio interconnects are up to the match!

Wound up using the Morrow for source devices and keeping the Nordost for pre-power amp connection as I get good results with this. Wondering if I should make the jump to the upgrade Morrow interconnects? Probably, I should.

Philosophy:
Every manufacturer that sells different lines of interconnects implies that their lower-end models are BROKEN in some fashion, inferior, basically! At least, Morrow Audio, says that their interconnect lines sound similar, just MORE of a good thing!! I can buy that, and I did!

Conclusion:
These Morrow Audio interconnects make you re-evaluate whether the interconnects one is using are colored or altering the sound in some fashion as they seem to have very little sonic signature. Possibly one of omission rather than commission (read that in Stereophile, once)!

Product Weakness: Construction seems fragile.
Product Strengths: Natural sounding.
