Before getting into the review, let me tell you that I don't quite understand this complex topic of "Break-in"---But I will testify how important it is to the desired outcome.Kimber says 100 hours. This review is the Kimber Select reference (copper) balanced interconnect at 6 meters in length. It is the long run between my Krell Amp. and Preamp.( which for isolation purposes is in a different room from the Amp and speakers).I have had a miriad of cable in this position from Discovery to Sonorane to VanDenhul, etc. I was very happy with the Kimber right out of the box--then it was like a rollercoaster ride. At 30 hours it was too thin. At 50 hours it was too fat. At 70 hours it didn't seem focused. Hear comes the "Break-In" comment. At 100 hours it was like a light switch----Focus--Glorious extension in both directions--Holographic sound stage--Full rich midrange--Bass impact and slam like I've never heard before ( in my system ).To say that I am impressed with this cable would be an understatement--HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! The thing that blows my mind is when I see Sony SACD players for sale with 50 hours on them or cable with 10 hours---come on people--unless you go the course on Break-in you really never knew what it sounded like to begin with. " THANKS FOR LISTENING ".
