The reason I am writing this review is that I found a product that is so good and inexpensive that I just had to voice it to the masses out there so that if they are in the position of buying interconnects to try these out . Believe me when I say you should run and try them out .

Just so you guys out there might have a reference point I have been involved in audio for the past , I would say 38 years and have had countless pieces of equipment at my home being in the receiving end of a friend who was the owner of a Hi Fi shop . That being said once in a while we find products that merit recommendations. But once in a blue moon we come to stumble across a product that is so good and so inexpensive that we feel we should let the people know about it . Products that set a new standard at it's price rate . The Reson interconnect is such a product .

Right now , my system comprises of modified project expresion II turntable ,moving coil cartridge with project low noise power supply . Cd player is Opera Audio Turndot CD player using it's balance outputs , both sources are connected to an Audible Illusions Modulus 3A with Gold Phono Board . Power amplifier are a Counterpoint SA-12 totally modified to an NPS 100 with NOS RCA black Plates tubes and a Mccormack DNA 125 . All interconnects are JPS superconductor cables threw out and all power cables are JPS into a Van Evers power conditioner . Speakers are Spica TC-50 with updated crossover using clarity capacitors and Stock Magnepan 1.6GR speakers .

I bought a one meter pair of the Reson DNM cable in order to test it in my system . I ordered it from a store in England and with shipping it came out to a total of 27 dollars worth . Bought them unterminated which I went to radio shack and bought two pairs of plastic RCA terminals . The reason I went with plastic is that the philosophy behind the DNM solid Core interconnects is that we should use the minimun amount of metal in cables as metal distort the magnetic field created when the signal goes threw the cable . I'm not going into the that right now , if your interested just totheir website and read . Makes for some interesting info .

I connected the cable where it would do the much difference , to the source that in this instance was the CD player . All other interconnects were the superconductors from JPS . I have come to learn that the cable connected to the source is the one that makes most difference in the sound of the system , about 70% of the final output is the sound of the cable . In any event I belive JPS to be sufficiently neutral to make a valued judgement on the sound of the DNM reson cables .

At first when I connected the cable it sounded ok , musical but nothing special . It was kind of dark sounding with bloated bass and recessed top end . Knowing that cables as everything else has to be burned in I turned of my system and let the CD player do it's thing for about two full days . When I came back and started to hear how in sounded I was surprised to find out after hearing it for about one hour that it actually sounded worst. Now the sound was not only dark but there was a strange confusing sound to it all . As if all the musical lines were overlapping one with the other in such a way as to make the music totally caotic . Ok, maybe I am exagerating a bit but you get the picture .

I turned the equipment off and let the CD player burn in the cable for one more day. When I came back to the system the next day it sounded different , better , but just a bit better . Well I just kept on hearing music . About an hour and a half of music I heard that the sound of the system was changing . I put on a CD that I had previously heard while burninghe cable and I was right . It was changing . Now I don't know how to put this but all of a sudden the sound of the cable change dramatically . Told my wife to sit down and listen and she told me that she heard the same thing .

It sounded tansparent , soundstage had acquired depth and there was a sense of layering to the music . Soundstage was starting to go beyond the position of the speaker on cd that had this information .

Today I sat down and heard the system again . I started to hear a CD by Weather report live , managed by the great Doug Sax . The sound was clean , dynamic , with a wide soundstage and depth . It was comunicating the sound of the acoustics of the recording area , the chears of the crowd were extremely neutral . The sound of the system if I had to chose just one word to described it all was balanced . Everything sounded neutral but with a compelling ability to give low level detail with it's dynamic shading intact . I told my self , " hey , it sounds very good " . Then I put the Cd "Still Life" by Pat Matheney . I can say with confidence that I was in shock as I was hearing details that I had never heard on a Cd that I knew by heart and heard in many a systems .

What really shock me was not only the amount of detail but how clean and transparent everything sounded . The sound of a woman singing in the background was giving off details of the acoustics of the place where the recording of her voice was made in such a way as to actually see the back wall of the venue . I had never heard this . In every system I had heard her she sounded way back to the right side but never had I hear her sing and her voice expand outwards towards the walls at the back and the reverberation giving way to the dimensions of the back wall .

Another thing that must be said is that while hearing Weather Report the system had a sound totally diferent then what it had while hearing the Pat Metheney recording . Now , you would say that is totally normal to hear the differences . But not to a degree that competent recordings made one system sound so totally different to a degree that it felt that I was hearing a diferent one altogether .

This cable sounded so good that I was compelled to right this and try to explain how it sounded . Musically it was outstanding as every loud and small detail was laid bare to hear and neither of them were in some way over lapping the other in order to mask them . DNM cable are a revelation and I believe that this cable is so good as to make me think that DNM's philosphy on audio design is totally sound . Why ? Because you can hear it . If you can go to their website and order their cable and give them a listen,goIf you don't like them the are so inexpensive that I'm positive you can find someone who will love them . Just one more thing , the cable is so revealing and so transparent and neutral that I don't know if they will reveal the good and the bad in your system , in other words , I just tried them in my system so I don't know how they will react to a different system . Even though my gut feeling saysit will reveal all but it will also give offsuch a compelling and musical presentation to overcome any distortion they might be revealing . Highly recommended

Product Weakness: Maybe , To revealing ?
Product Strengths: Balanced , transparent to a high degree, very neutral , macro and micro detail revealed to a high musical degree.
