for the Max Rochlin Memorial DIgital cable
I built the Max Rochlin Memorial cable almost two months ago now. I followed the recipe on the ETM page with the minor exception of adding a telescoping sheild with a .01uF cap.I have now had the opportunity to compare it to both my Apogee WideEye digital cable and my DH Labs Silver Sonic (the reigning champion).
As I have mentioned before in other reviews the Apogee has the lead in high end reproduction, while the DH Labs won in soundstage and imaging.
The Max cable combines the two of them effortlessly. It has the high end of the Apogee, without sounding forward, and the soundstage of the DH Labs without sounding laid back.
Not to mention that it is one good looking cable, day glo green.
It took me all of an hour to build once I had the parts, and I am confident that no better cable can be had for less than megabucks.
I highly recommend it, without reservation.
Product Weakness: none Product Strengths: frequency, soundstage
