I’ve replaced all the removable power cords on my system with Chris VH Flavor 1 and 2 recipe cords. I first built all Flavor 1’s. I put them:

> From the wall (PS Audio Power Port) to a PS Audio Ultimate Outlet

> From the Ultimate Outlet to a PS Audio juice bar.

> Then, one for my Audible Illusions Modulus 3A tube preamp

> > Two for my BAT VK500 amp

I was very happy with them. The thing I noticed most was the tightness and extra punch in the LF. Very nice. But, I wanted to try Flavor 2’s on my amp since Chris had indicated that they are the best on his monobloc amps.

I got the Flavor 2 PC's made and installed. They were easier to make than I expected (I thought stripping the shield and foil would be a pain, but it wasn't), and I had no problems making them. I plugged them in, and fired the system up. That's when things got a bit weird.

I turned off the muting on the preamp. Something was wrong. The system wasn't doing anything. Fear shot through me as I realized I must have screwed the PC's up, but nothing was arcing or smoking. I pushed the mute back in... nothing changed... took it off.... same thing. Strange... I put in a CD and hit play. Music rose from the blackness and surrounded me. Really Weird. I stopped the CD and realized what was wrong:

Nothing. Nothing at all.

Then I realized what was different. There was simply no noise floor. It was dead quiet. How could that be? I didn't have a noise floor before... or so I thought. I was amazed. How could changing from a Chris VH Flavor 1 to Flavor 2 make such a difference?!? It did. :-))

It's not just the noise floor that is improved. There is a noticeable clarity in the LF and slightly more depth to the soundstage. I'm really happy that I tried them, and I am going to keep them!

Thanks Chris!!!

Product Weakness: None that I'm aware of.
Product Strengths: Inexpensive. Easy to make. Look very cool. Lower noise floor. Cleaner, thighter low end.
