Hi fellow music lovers,

As it has been awhile since I took the time to add a review of something to which I've felt should be bought to the attention of others, but I've simply have to give praise where's due.

As I've re-configurated my system in an attempt to get the best out of three different tube based integrated amps that I normally rotate through depending upon weather and/or mood along with my sole solid state integrated a Naim Audio Nait 2, as I'm full aware of the fact that no one cabling loom is universal and that no one sizes fits all - as said cabling is in fact vey system dependant at best, but as I'm one of those sorts that takes it upon himself to audition various cables either through the Cable Company or through friends/associates whom often allow me several weeks to sample theirs.

As I have been asked the question of late about my take on cables from either Grover Huffman along with those from Clear Day Cables - I merely thought that I'd have to try them both as a means of knowing what's what - so I borrowed a friends Grover's for a week, and within less then a day, I knew that was something special about the manner in which they presented the notes/beats in an entirely different way than I'd become accustomed to compared to the Crimson RM Music-Link's that I've been enjoying for almost a year, so I knew it was time to venture out and find a different flavor of cabling - if you will, that would in fact work in tandem with said three tube Integrated's.

So bring the avid researcher that've been over the last 12 years, I began reading then re-reading everything I'd about these cables and then came across articles/postings where many were talking about the Clear Day Cables which sparked an interest - so II thought about what was being said for a few days and began to realize one very important fact - my system was in need of some form of silver based cables somewhere in the loop.

So, I reached out to Paul - the designer behind the Clear Day Cables and got a feel for his designs and thought I'd have to hear them within my own system - within 3 days a pair of the standard Shotgun's arrived and within all of 3-5 tracks I knew these were doing things in my system that was totaling what I needed/wanted - so I listened to them for a week, before asking Paul to send out a pair of his more upscale Double Shotgun's to compare both to see which would in fact offer the best sound with each amp as used with my beloved DeVore Fidelity Gibbon 3's, to which I don't see replacing in the near future ( as the only worthwhile upgrade to me is their more costly stablemate the Gibbon 3XL's, but that's for another story at a later date. ) so, I wanted to be sure that whichever one I decided upon?, had to preform its magic here.

And was I ever in for a treat - it came down to the fact that while the Double Shotgun's offered a weightier - warmer - richer presentation with bass notes unlike anything I've heard before - but there was a feeling that it was taking things over the top and was to much of a good thing, as it seems that a great deal of the music has become slower coming through these little 4 1/2" misbass drivers of the Gibbon 3's, whereas Paul had already mentioned that due to the said size of my drivers as well as the speakers efficiency that the standard Shotgun's should be more then capable of passing along any/all musical information I'd ever need.

As it proved, this recommendation was spot on - things just came together in a more synergistic type manner - where I was able to hear the lowest reached of bass runs/passages as more defined - with an added sense of speed/snap/nimbleness to even the most complex of passages. This was an ear opener to the first degree.

The mids were just as round and accurate where it made me focus my attention upon how naturally balanced or correct each and every vocalist both male and female were presented as if I could actually see their thoats moving in and outwards as they formed phases that were easier to make out their words - their range - the emotional aspect behind their lyrics became more meaningful and truer to the source.

And, now I'm moving onto an area where many thing that silver comes across as bright/overly aggressive or hash, well no so here - these cables were compared to a friends Kubala Sosna Fasination cables that cost four times their cost - and are copper based, yet the Shotgun's offered a very similar warmth and textural sound as these that it was uncanny to thing about the money saved.

As someone whom happens to be a believer in the magic that resides in components like the Well Tempered Labs Amadeus GT along with either Dynavector XXmk2's or EMT TSD-15 cartridges using into said either a Heed Audio Quasar or Acoustic Plan PhonoMaster ( Phono-stages ) into say a Leben CS-600 or Shindo Labs Separates driving a pair of DeVore Gibbon 3XL's or Reference 9's tied together with either Auditorium 23 or Shindo Labs cabling looms and loving it, because biases or not - this system plays music/notes in a manner that's unlike anything I've experienced in my 30 years in this hobby, where it's almost as if the actual performer is standing over you - where you can almost smell their perfume or cologne.

And I realize that many owners of said gear aren't likely to consider cables that aren't brand named or designer labeled - and that's a wrong approach to take, simply based upon what something cost, but to my mind that's their lost - as I think that both Grover's and Clear Day Cables are more deserving on music lovers attention merely based upon the fact of what each brings to the tables purely based upon a musical aspect - and not based upon their appearances or DIY type humble beginnings - after all, where did the likes of Transparent Audio - Kimber Kables - Nordost - Crystal Cables/Siltech - PAD - Kubala Sosna start their beginnings?, on someone's kitchen table?, basement workshop?, in a garage?.

So tend to look down on DIY based designs, simply because of their origins - cost - or because they aren't designer labels and aren't approved by the snobs that feel music lover have to spend upwards of said $10.700 on an entire cabling loom that includes Interconnect's - Power Cord and Speaker Cables, then I'd say F_ _ k them, as the differences in cost vs performances aren't that great - and said differences would in fact allow music lovers to put their funds where it serves a greater more important purpose - into ones Music Collection.

Bottom line is this............, both of these cable lines are deserving of ones attention than you might ever know and in some cases might be just what the Doctor ordered?. In the end it's all about Synergy - Musicality - Truth - Naturalness that counts, as well as one having that out of body experience as it they're actual at a private recording session - put on just for them/you.

YMMV?, but sometimes it pays to think outside the box, and trust in your own ears/senses/heart and know what sounds like music while another merely makes sounds akin to Hi-Fi. Think long and hard about my words and you'll see what I'm trying very hard to get at!, it's about the Music.

Regards,

Product Weakness: <br>N/A ( To my ears/senses/heart ) Other it might be seen as being to cheap to be taken seriously by the snobs in the world ( There Lost, a Music Lover gain. )
Product Strengths: Better handling of complex bass runs/passages - smooth as silk top end - very even and textured midrange. In all honesty it's simply has a sound which I can only refer to as ' Correct '. It merely brings the music/notes together in a very cohesive manner that I've expericed before now.
