for the Shark v.i

This is the "improved" Shark v.i, which supposedly is easier to break in.

Well, it sounded OK, nothing too good or bad out of box.

At 150-200 hours, it was better, nothing to write home about.

At 300+ hours (powering whole AV system or refrigerator 24/7), we've arrived at the promised land.

What it doesn't do:

1) Romanticize, bloat, veil, or over-bloom.

2) Hide upstream faults

What it does:

1) Well-organized, focused soundfield with dense, detailed, 3-D images anchored in space.

2) Incredible control of lower-midrange to upper bass area. Jazz percussions and drums just pop out with enormous force, speed, and "pop." No bloated/chesty lower-midrange. The best I've heard in this regard.

3) Densely sculpted, very detailed voices with real backbone and dripping with true-to-life "wetness" . Even though number "2" likely will awe you the most, it's this "3" that got me. Believe me when I say it's near impossible to find a cord that does this right.

What I wish for:

1) Because the upper bass is so incredible, one notices more the low bass. It's one of those zero-overhang, lightening-fast bass, but some will complain it doesn't bloom more or have enough quantity of bass. Oh, well, this is the kind of thing one can always tweak to his tastes. I use my Fatman on my SS bass amp to balance things.

The verdict:

A unique cord using unique metals (platinum) that has a captivating sound. Well worth the money. It's not perfect since nothing is, but it's a cord worth having in your arsenal for us tweakaholics because it does some things better than any other copper or silver cords I've heard. I still prefer, I think, the Omega Mikro for my digital, but Shark v.i works better for things like tube amps, preamps, electronic crossovers, etc.

Dear BMI, how about some interconnects and speaker cables with this metal?
