Curiosity got the better of me. I've heard about these cables, and have also been curious about silver cables in general, since word has it they work well with SETs. So, I figured since they have a 3 week trial period, I had nothing to loose-especially since they require little ot no burn in period.
OK. My reference is Tara decade IC/master speaker, tho I've had other cables, so comparisons are to Tara.
These guys are *different*. The entire presentation is different.
The first thing I noticed, is that the treble is slightly extended-on some discs, there is a slight emphasis on the upper treble. This doesn't cause brightness, but a *shineyness* to some music. Also, on some discs, the upper bass is a tad plump-this seems variable, and may be the discs themselves.
That said, the background is noticably quieter, and there is more detail.
The deep bass is fast and tight. the soundstage emphasises the width over depth-it is noticably shallower but MUCH wider than my tara. The perspective is a bit closer too. Some people will like this, others will not. Tonally, these cables are lush, but not warm.
I've saved the best for last. These are the most IMEDIATE sounding cables I've ever heard. AMAZINGLY so. They have changed my system from (mostly) You-are-there to (mostly) They-Are-here. I like that.
Again, this is a different presentation than what I'm used to.Not everyone will like it. It seems to work well with my amps, and I suspect with many SETs.
A word of warning tho-Bad recordings have no place to hide, and sound REAL bad. Also, surface noise on LPs is a little more nosticable, and some of my mint LPs are now M-. :-(
Lastly, I tried mixing them with my Taras, and that didn't work for some reason, and sounded somewhat confused.
