for the s10
if a very good cd player is what you want and dont want or have 500 plus $ dont look any farther than the s10-no its not perfect but it shouldnt be for 300 beans ,but it is way over built for the price has a great display and reads cds very fast. no i havent had any big name cd players before to compare it to just my tosh 3950 and i wont even go there because its no contest.the volume control is nice, when you a swap cd and the new one is a little louder you dont have to juggle 2 remotes , just use the cd volume to reduce down-it works very nicely.bass was non-existant for the first 10 hours or so, after it came in it is very tight and strong.vocals and mids are sweet-accustic guitars never sounded better- the top end with stock tube was a little rolled of for me, i picked up a pair of nos tubes of agon(40$) the day i ordered the s10 so i swapped one in , now i am very happy with the highs-
i never noticed a problem with the speed until i swapped the tube, now it also appears to have better pace and rythm.
never had a hdcd player before-if i had heard one earlier i would have bought one on the spot, this is a great format- i didnt know i had any hdcd till i played a Doors disc and the little blue light lit up, it was a big improvement over regular, i saw a dire straits cd marked hdcd so i grabbed that and was impressed again.music ive played -doors,tom petty, jack johnson, stones, dave mathews,ac/dc,big head tod, stevie ray vaughn, janes addiction, sugar ray lots of different stuff and it all sounds good .
it doesnt have a warranty , is usa power, after i saw inside i wasnt worried about the lack of a warranty. if i do have a problem all the parts are available over the counter so any tech can fix or modify it .
shipping was 100$ and paid ny sales tax--http://www.shengya-audio.com
