for the CDR-800

I was browsing a local big box store for SACD's and walked throught the open box isle and saw this machine. In my third system (set-up for casual duplication and evaluation in the consumer realm) My CDR 870 is "long in the tooth" so it needed replacement when I found time to do it.

Behold! THere it is, holds 3CD's or even MP3 cd's in the carosel, has a nice remote, comes with a video tape of operation and is well made and quite robust for price point. Being that Philips is one of the inovators of the CD format, I figured, wtf, I will give it a go.

Got it home, paid only 129 open package price in U$D for it, and played a CD. Nice, nicer than the CDR870, close to the SCD-CE775 and it may not be broken in yet.

To make short order of this reading, the machine has a plethera of fetures, analog in, direct, dig in and simple one topuch copy, finalize and record. It makes flawless copys and adds to my dup. system as a nice piece of equipment for seeing what consumer use in everyday life.

I feel even at retail, it is a good value.

At open package price, a steal. I use it for utility sakes and it still, connected to system A is not shabby at all. Overall a great value!
