I discovered this piece while searching the web for cool products. It is out of Singapore, by a company called Ortho Spectrum - Maker of audio accessories -.

When I read the description, I was intrigued and arranged for a unit to be sent to me.

The AR2000 arrive shortly thereafter and I began my demo.

Let me first say that up until then (analogue aside) I felt that I truly had a world class system in my big rig. The details that I heard were what I thought , amazing.

About two days before My AR2000 arrived, a non-audiophile, casual listener was enjoying my system with me.

Pioneer DV-09
Bel Canto-DAC1
Joule Electra LA100MKIII
Audio Research VT100MKII
Merlin VSMse w/BAM

Luminous Audio Technology, Synchestra Signature IC's

We were listening to Jacintha's rendition of "Oh Danny Boy" on Here's to Ben (JVC XRCD2)

This disc is a must, by the way.

My friend and I heard every little thing that was going on inside the mouth and lungs of Jacintha. I thought it was great... my friend, commented that she wasn't sure if she'd like to hear every piece of spit and breath taken (at least to the degree that we were hearing it).

I rejected her comment, telling her that that was a sign of a high end system... one that resolves everything.

Fast forward to the AR2000.

Placed between the cd player/dac and the preamp, it rids your system of digital noise and the inaudible frequencies that contribute to what analogue lovers hate about cd. I can tell you that after some time for burn-in and listening for a couple sessions, I fell deeply for this AR2000. It is an essential to any digitally based system. It took me a couple listening sessions until I actually craved it. Why so long? because my ear had been trained that all that high end emphasis was music. Which it is NOT!

In addition to the work it does at reducing the listeners fatigue... the sound is so much more coherent. The brittle sounds were gone. Cymbals sound like cymbals... not scraping metal... It even makes the Romanza CD, by Bocelli sound like a good recording.

If you are wondering what the analogue lovers mean, when they bash cds, then you will know once you listen to the AR2000. This has made such a big difference in my enjoyment of my cds. The Ar2000 is in my home to stay. I have one coming for my second system also.

The unit comes with three feet attached. They are not like anything we have here. They are made of special absorption materials and are really unusual.
