A wonderful and striking-looking(think ingot), solidly made CD Player is this high-end Chinese-made offering, without a hint of blandness(unlike some Chinese meals)and it oozes class. Relaxed, yet dynamic is how I would sum-up the sound. It has an effortless, natural/ presentation, orderly and controlled. Compared to my previous Naim CDX the MH2 sounds more ‘palatable’, has no harshness and does not grab you by the throat saying listen to me! There is airiness not perceived with the CDX even with old mono recordings that have been reprocessed(1930-40‘s swing/dance bands). Compared again to the CDX and Vincent(Shengya) CD-S6, human voices come over as, well - more human! (I now wanna meet Annie Lennox). Like both of those cdps the MH2 has hdcd. If it hadn’t I would have missed-out on buying as I have quite a collection of the enhanced discs. Everything augurs well; I may see how it compares with the tube version!
It even has a random/shuttle play that works, unlike from previous experience with Shengya. Apparently, the CD-S6 uses old software going back to the original cdp of Sony!! The MH2 remote control is a work of art. It is wooden, has polished buttons and metal surround. On it is a power standby button and when activated the cd screen has glowing orange bars to signify. The Player can be turned fully-off via an underside front switch. Oh! and there’s a set of xlr outputs as well as rca type.
The Player is a veritable bargain; bought new for £244 (including shipping) from Germany, and carries a 24-month warranty. Also this is the luxury version with polished chrome front, not the ‘uglier’ all aluminium basic version, ala Inca Katana series1 retailing at £600 u.k.

Product Weakness: At this price or even 6x...I'm still thinking.
Product Strengths: Build quality, natural sound. It comes triple-boxed and includes a luxury velvet cover to protect the chrome front. Truly the Chinese Krell!
