I received this unit for about 1 month ;still breaking in stage ;
in general ,appearance looks good & well made ,simple front but for the remote which is cheap & in fact the label's stick on over some other brand unit,i think .Well for a 3000+$ I 'd expect a little better .
The power swicth is at the back ,so I don't think they want you to leave the unit off at all ,though the unit generate just a little warm at the rear & bottom panel . For the BNC digital outlet > simple solution: RadioShack sale adaptor convert from BNC to RCA outlet .I use for recording.

Unit operate very quiet & fast when compare to my other unit Ah4000 , phillips 880 & Revox (older)& sonyEs . The bright blue operation light is just too bright for me even in day light .

As for the sound , well out of the box is detail & little bright but afetr more them 200hr+ warm takes its place & has a very spacious sound but the depth(3D) is still little hard to tell compare to the Ah-tube unit .
When it's turned up to the right vol. all sound become balance ,while the Ah-tube can be listen at a much lower vol. & still can hear all the detail balance .It have a very nice mid range sound vocal but just short of the tube warm & realistic (as if sound it's not coming from a speaker ) .Don't get me wrong ,it sounds very real with every inner detail you can hear; from a vocal (lip move & breathing air ) ;also the recording surrounding studio.

Most of the Mag. review I'd agree except that none has tell you detail of the cables ,power cord & vol. & direct comparison .I know it's hard on them but just comparing to the tube sound CDP,the sound I'm expecting is less than perfect that may also have to do with ,it needs more break-in time & I will still go back to the AH CdP for the warm-life tube sound .
Cable & power cord seems cut off lots of edge sound (ssss& tttt).
Indeed a good power cord(JPSlab digital or Acoustic Zen T) in needed which I'm still searching for .They do make the sound stage & ssss ,focus & control respectively.I'm open for suggestion ..Bad cable/powercord(edge sound & lack of dynamic & muted surrounding )drive me back to the tube sound .
Well perhaps need more burn-in time ??
Are Gamut better than Wadia301 ,Ayre7, SimAudioEclipe or even Bermaster,
to what extend & I wish I know ,but happy for now .

Ps If wants a good dealer for GaMut, I've a good one for u just e-mail me .
Fred ,is wonderful to deal & hornest person A+.

Product Weakness: cheap remote ;power switch(locate rear-end) ;rare BNC digital outlet;wishing an internal vol. control(like AH4000)!!!!
Product Strengths: Detail inner sound ;life-sweet midrange (close to Tube with right cable&cord);Dynamic (at the right vol. setting);reads disc fast & no probelm with any yet (include CD-R ,CR-W& not perfect disc ) ;simple design laid out & Quality shelf ( well at 3000$point)
