General Asylum: REVIEW: AH! 99' Tjoeb CD Player/Recorder by Frank Santelia

Without trying to out-do the kudos for this product by everyone else,I would like to add my honest opinion so the believability of what is said makes sense.My T'joeb is loaded with everthing that you can get with the unit.I received my unit last Nov.from Herman.I've read almost every review on the T'joeb and just had to purchase this unit to see if the truth had any meaning.Without question( and talk about being fussy with my music)I was flabbergasted by the performance of this Marantz( after a 50 hr warm up)Where in God's could you purchase a unit that sounds this fantastic at this price???? I did make some modifications.First the tubes-from Richardson Electronics -Amprex-6922/E88CC-BB( Bugle boy) matched pair $82.(Outstanding sound)Trust me!!Next,the IEC chassis connector(male) from Belden/allied.Not such an esay task trying to drill through 2 layers of light weight metal to attach the IEC.Not much space availible inside of unit to do this, but well worth it. Now select a Power cord that will make this baby sing. From my trusted sources, came the name TG Audio Lab HRS-A(6 ft.)Unbelievable detail-IN SPADES YES IN spades. Under the unit went 4 great Polycrystal footers.( expensive)Dead Silence. Interconnects are up to your taste.The final touch, to prevent any vibes getting into the music was to use a 10 lb. weight from my GP -work out unit and placed it on top,of the T'joeb.The bass notes rattled my windows( Clean precise and deep.) Now I have revenge. When I visit the Hi End outlets and listen to the latest and greatest in CDP's a smile comes over my face because I know that my T'joeb can kick their ass for $2500 less. It gives me goose bumbs to know this. All said, I highly recommend the T'joeb
