To Begin,

Don custom built this for me. It allows for use of 45, 245, and 2A3 + a separate Filament supply switch for VT52's or other DHT's with 6.3VAC 4 pin requirements.

Construction is the massive "X", alternating planes for each setup, one side of the X for the filaments, one for the power supply and GZ32 Rectifier and one plane for the inputs and outputs, inputs are cathode bias and bypass capped 6SF5 Metal Tubes, great stuff.

I build all my amps with ZERO Feedback and multiple filament supplies, for Octal as well as 4 pin tubes so there is max. flexibility for crafting soundstage, a method I learned as owner of the MESA PRODUCTS.

The amp sounds great...the output transformers and filaments are Hammond and MagnaTek, the Power Transformer is Hammond...ceramic input sockets and nice output posts, RCA's etc,, nice industrial art.

The sound, well, spectacular, you are there, and by crafting the sound stage with different tubes, Glass 6SF5's, 45's, 245's, VT52's 6A3's, you get depth and width of sound stage unheard of in home brew...

All in all a great value...I own just about every amp you could imagine...and this is by far my favorite next to Bob Danielak's SE Triode DHT Stereo 2A3 AMP.

Don's value, although not on the Internet, is his craft, patience to detail, his love of possibilities and as a fellow builder his love of the experiment...he will even help you with setup, bias current, tube swap and rectifier type...so you really get a piece of lifetime functional art.

Listen to Art Blakey's Night in Tunisia and you will know the wonders of DHT.

I own a Sakuma I built just like this but it can do 5.0 VAC as well for 300B's and it is wonderful, but it is interstage V. DC Coupled.

Oh, no cap swapping needed here folks, DC Coupled, input tube to outputs...
