Incredible amp. Rated at 175 W/CH but can put out an astouinding 1400 watts at 1 ohm. It drives my 801's with ease. Prior to the W-5 I had an Adcom GFA-555 a well regarded amp rated at 200 W/CH which drove the 801's although was never really arresting. Now the soundstage is enormous, no grain whatsoever. Sounds like tubes but with the low frequency control and speed of SS.

The depth and weight of the soundfield is awesome. On the No Security CD of the Stones you actually feel the huge stadiun acoustic envelope the whole room going beyond the walls. It also is very sweet and slightly laid back which seems contradictory but is so!

At 4-5 K this amp is one of the greatest high end deals around. For Martin Logan or Maggie owners it will blow you away! True valuation of this amp compared with whats out there should be about 15K, and I am not alone in saying this. It outdoes the likes of Krell, Levinson, AR etc although it is a very close call in some areas. Don't miss auditioning it if you are near its price range. You will be more than pleased!
