Early this week I recived my newly updated 300S. It came back an SX-3. New top, new nameplate, and all new hybrid circuits. I noticed the output transistors were much bigger too. But the real eye opener came when I connected it to my system. I have had the 300S for about 8 months and have been very happy with my system. But after listening to the SX upgrade, I felt as though I have reached a level never obtainable before. All the slam and power of the big Krells ( I have owned them ) but a much deeper, and more palpable soundstage with no listening fatigue at all. In fact the amp invites you to stay longer. It truely has the magic. More like a great tube amp but with a powerful, fast low-end as an added bonus. Randy White has always been a great designer of solid-state class A amplifiers, but looks like he has a masters grasp of vacuum tubes also.

I am running it on a pair of Watt Puppies and I have to say it is the best sound I have ever been able to get out of them. I have tried large tube amps on them before ie. VTL, but the low-end gets loose and suffers badly from lack of current. The Trinity remains in total control from top to bottom. I have heard other hybrids before, but the Trinity SX-3 is in a class all itself. I give it a solid 11 out of 10
