I ending up purchasing this amp after comparing it to a Belles amp, the
MCCormack DNA .5, my older Adcom 545 and a home brew amp. I am using it with a CJ PV-11 preamp. I felt it was the most musical in my system of all the amps reviewed. I actually purchased the McCormack amp after I bought the CJ thinking that this amp would blow the CJ out of the water, with all the glowing reviews. This was not the case in my system. The amps sounded similiar but I felt the McCormack had a slight glare on reed instruments (sax). I took the CJ amp to a local McCormack dealer and swaped my amp in place of the McCormack (with a McCormack preamp) it sounded good. Although when I put the McCormack amp back in the chain it did blow away the CJ. It became obvious that system matching is very important.
