this amp took the place of a pioneer integrated sa8500 driving maggie smga

speakers. i regard the pioneer as a decent amp (the pre section is still used,sounds great, and you know that a good pre is harder to make than a good power amp). the pioneer's 70 or so watts at 4 ohms did not cut it, and we were not asking a great deal from it in terms of volume. i have never heard such a clear example of clipping. voices were the first casualty.

the bedini proved very neutral and balanced with strong bass,smooth rich midrange, and delicate extended highs. i cannot foresee spending less and doing better. i like it as well as the old rowlands i heard,and better than the new class d stuff. i prefer it to the naits and odysseys. i always thought that tubes provided the best bang per buck, but this amp has very little of the cold, harsh,sterile signature i asssociate with solid state. a keeper. and worth recapping the power supply at some point. but right now i am too busy enjoying it.

if this is the worst amp bedini made, i would like to hear the best.
