FINALLY IT SURFACED!!!That's my dad's SS #, I've been looking for that unit..
Kidding, I wouldn't worry about it. I've been buying and selling cameras for years and I often see SS 3's scratched into the base of cameras, and I've seen many reputable businesses selling these units. They have to hold them for 30 days to allow for police checks and then they are clear to sell them....so...don't lose sleep over it.
