RE: Sluggish bass MF A1000

Hi all,

I recently aquired a Musical fidelity A1000 amp, a big monster 50watt Class A thing.

Trouble is with my current speakers Tannoy R1's the bass sounds wrong, sluggish and out of tune. The amp's manaual suggest speakers of 89 sensitivity or above.

My question is if I change the speakers to something more suitable will this address the bass issue. I don't have that much experince but I am inclined to think that the amp is just voiced this way and am sceptical that a change in speakers will improve matters.

Am I wrong?
