Hi Paul
Thank you for your excellent picture. I am glad you have no issue to assembly this CD Player kit.. Also, Thanks for your suggestions.
Follow Ups:
Just built this kit, was fun. A lot of metal parts and generally quality construction. Odd thing is that all that metal surrounds a portable CD player module of unspecified origin. Yes, that is right, the CD module is of the same kind that goes into "Discmans" and boomboxes. The tube stage is just a buffer. The stage that creates the music is held tight inside a black metal box. In fact, the default operation is with ASP on. ASP stands for Anti-Skip-Protection (look it up on Wikipedia). ASP noticeably degrades the sound clipping the highs. Normal procedure for playing a disc is to insert, close, press play, then press ASP to disable it. ASP must be disabled every time you play a disc, not just once at power up. The manual states that ASP can not be turned off by default.
Even with these limitations, this player performs well. It is similar to if a little less detailed than my Vintage TDA1541 Philips player. Overall, I like it. It oozes cool, is well built, and I have the schematic. :)
In the future I will see if I can figure out if the mechanism can have digital tapped out.
A neat feature of this player that you may have guessed is that the aux input goes through the tube buffer so you can tubulate your ipod.
Hi,I just heard about this cd player at http://www.audioasylum.com/forums/bottlehead/bbs.html. I am in the USA and like most americans have difficulty with foreign languages (much to our disadvantage). Therefore, I cannot understand the information on your website. Do you think you will have an english version.
Thank you,
Bob

Hi Bob
Thank you for your comment. Actually, all the Elekit kits sell in USA & Canada come with an English Assembling Manual. I hope this forum will help. Indeed, Elekit is a very good products. Thanks Victor
What can you tell us about the cd player? I am very interested in this kit. What does it "sound" like? How robust are the mechanicals? Whatever information you have would be beneficial.
Thanks
Here is the spec. of this CD player Kithttp://www.vkmusic.ca/TU-884CD.htm
There's a lot to say about this CD kit. This is not it's first generation of this kit, it's been around and has been modified to this stage on a regular basis. I am using Audio Research CD 3, of course the CD 3 is better than this one but you only pay less than 10% of the CD3. You will get at least 80% of the CD 3. Except, the music is very dynamic music.
IT is a very popular kit in Japan. You will not be disappointed.
Thanks
Victor

Hi,
I previously purchased a kit and am finally starting to put it together. Unfortunately, the small bridge rectifier (D1) is missing from the kit.
Can anyone tell me where to purchase a replacement?
Thank you,
Bob Musson
Hi Bob
I sent you 2 emails regarding your Bridge Rectifier
The first email
Hi Bob
The part name is S1NB60. It is a very common Bridge Rectifier.

It is very rare the BD1 not in the package.
If you have any further questions, please let me know.
Thanks
Victor
This is the second email
HI Bob
If you can wait, I can find one for you from Elekit.
It will take a bit of time
Victor
Both emails were sent on Saturday March 6.
I did not receive any reply from you.
