When I viewed the video, seeing the arm reminded me of a (dramatically) scaled-down version of the sort-of-pantograph arm that was used in the Marantz SLT-12 linear tracker.
If I understand the history correctly, the original SLT-12 shipped with a cartridge that wasn't user replaceable (like this one), but later SLT-12U versions had a replaceable cart.
Seems sort of like history repeating itself, albeit in miniature.
