That's called 'becoming mature'...

194.224.15.38

I'll be 40 in a couple of months.
My 1000+ vinyl collection was nearly forgotten about twelve years ago. Suddenly, about three yrs ago I started playing them again.
Unlike you, I still enjoy 'Fragile' and 'Close to the Edge', and other Yes, King Crimson, Pink Floyd, Bad Company, Jethro Tull, CSN(&Y), older Clapton, Santana, etc...
I used to live apart from music some years ago, until thanks to fortysomething y.o. workmate helped me discover music that was new to me. From Jeff Buckley, Belle & Sebastian, Coldplay, Tortoise, Tindersticks, Spiritualized...
Thanks to music forums here and RR I've also known other bands and artists that I also enjoy.
Age also has made me go deeply into jazz, classical, 'new age'(how I hate that term), folk, country.
In one word, my musical horizons have BROADENED. And I think that this is good.
Just an example, yesterday night I felt I needed soothing (not boring) music and played John Williams 'The Guitarist', Dead can Dance 'A Passage in Time', 'The Story of Us' original soundtrack by Eric Clapton and Jordi Savall OST for 'Tous les Matins du Monde' (baroque french string music). Four very different styles that left me absolutely fine and relaxed.
And only last week I ordered seven oldies from Platterpus Records, among which 'Oxygene', 'Acoustic Alchemy' and PFM 'Cook'.
If you're not going to listen to your 'Fragile' and 'Close to the Edge' copies, just let me know. We might have a deal here...
Rule number one: Music is here to enjoy.
