at the Great American here in sf and that sax player you refer to is none other than Skerik- one of if not the best sax player around. Certainly the most inventful sax player around as he makes great use of peddals and effects and can be downright captivating playing slow jazz or mindblowing peaking out at harder edged shows. The show on the disc was ok, if you haven't caught the fearless flying frog brigade in action a few times, they can get quite repetitive. Waaay too many pink floyd covers and soloing by each member for my tastes rather than coordinated groove, but to each their own- way ahead of anything I could do. Oddly enough, that show was recorded on a sunday and monday night and would have been a lot more appropriate on a friday/saturday.
